Fallout 4 modlist

v1.04, by chazu

Intro

This is a selection of good mods for Fallout 4. The mods are downloaded from Nexus Mods and installed with Nexus Mod Manager.
The images open the specific image they were ripped from on Nexus Mods.
Remember to endorse the mods you like on Nexus Mods (Nexus Mod Manager has a quick endorse feature on the left side toolbar)! Also consider whitelisting Nexus Mods on your adblocker to support the site.

I recommend some ini file tweaks for overall smoother gameplay, I put them on a separate page here.

Preparing the game for mods, do this before installing mods:

  • Navigate to your Fallout 4 folder at the following location "Documents/My Games/Fallout 4"
  • Open (or create, if missing) Fallout4Custom.ini
  • Add the following lines to your Fallout4Custom.ini (there are no typos):
  • [Archive]
  • bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
  • sResourceDataDirsFinal=
  • Save and close Fallout4Custom.ini
  • Done, you're ready to install mods!

Rejected mods

These are mods that I've tested and didn't like. I'm not saying they're bad mods but personally they weren't to my tastes.

aaa Welcome to Goodneighbor (from the category "Locations VANILLA")
  • Adds locations, NPCs, quests and items to the Goodneighbor area
  • Includes voice acting, the player character has no voice acting (use subtitles!)

  • Reasons for rejection:
  • Bad quality voice acting (bad audio quality, one guy doing most of the voices, bad writing)
  • No player character voice acting (stupid to read subtitles while the head bobs mouth shut)
  • The locations didn't feel connected to the Goodneighbor area (not believable/lore-friendly)
  • Poorly designed interior areas (cluttered with basic items, didn't feel like real places where people would be living)
